On January 27, 2013, Tom Adrian and Dave Stucky presented regarding water law at a conference held in Winter Park, Colorado and hosted by the Southwest Kansas Bar Association. The conference was actually a two-day event and Adrian and Stucky were the keynote speakers the second day.
The presentation covered a wide range of topics including the historical development of Kansas water law, water ownership disputes, acquiring water rights, changes to water rights, disputes arising from surface water runoff, stream regulation and recent Kansas legislative changes impacting water law. Adrian and Stucky have handled a wide assortment of cases involving the above facets of water law and both practice extensively in the area. The firm is currently legal counsel for the Equus Beds Groundwater Management District and has been since its inception. Adrian and Stucky are both attorneys with the firm Adrian & Pankratz, P.A.
